Using an image widget based rating system such as this should be more efficient. Instead of a click-drag action for a popup menu, only one click is needed. Furthermore, one click can express two axes of rating at once (much, much better than two click-drags).

There is probably room for further refinement. Grids, borders, or other indications might improve mouse targeting speed.

Works on Safari and Mozilla. I don't have IE, but I hear it's broken on that. And right now I don't care if it works on IE.
